This day’s event I’m sure demonstrated the hoped-for experience behind this activity. Seven of us dined, and Max the Fox Terrier stayed all rugged up in his owner’s car. As it was a cold and windy day the warmth and snugness experienced once inside the Fiveways Hotel was enjoyable in itself. Comments from the group followed two main themes - the abundance of food on our plates and how well cooked that food was. The level background sound from piped music, other diners and staff activities was not preclusive of conversation, a pleasant contrast to some other venues we have visited lately. An added feature of the meal was the self-serve buffet for cooked vegetables or salad, you could have a look before choosing what appealed most. Sticky date pudding was the most popular desert and again the size of the serving drew favourable comment. All in all it was a most enjoyable activity.
